ABOUT RMPAC
The club was formed by a group of people in 1983 mostly but not all from the Navy and Dave Sanderson was the original chair person.We meet at 6.15 on a Tuesday evening at the YMCA on Reforne, Portland. Our training runs start at 6.30, come rain or shine, and each session lasts between an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. There is also the opportunity to complete longer training runs on a Sunday morning…ideal for those hoping to complete a longer distance run.

We train in three groups, with each group catering for runners of different abilities and experience, our experienced and qualified coaches take turn to train the different groups, ensuring runners get the benefit from each coach’s style and training techniques.

People run for many  different reasons, it may be to lose weight, train for a particular event such as a charity run, improve their running technique, challenge themselves, to make new friends or just because they enjoy getting out in the fresh air. Whatever the reason you can guarantee it is reflected by our members who all run for their own personal reasons.

We have runners in the club who can act as mentors for new members, they may just be a friendly face the first time you come to the club or they may be able to answer that nagging question you have or give you some advice based on their own experiences. Our mentors are from a range of running backgrounds and will be more than happy to help you find your feet.
